01. Half a Decade with the Geographic

Few experiences compare to producing for National Geographic, a leading institution in factual storytelling that’s defined media and exploration for the past 130+ years. No pressure. But challenges like this are where I thrive, building a portfolio that includes producing for series like America’s National Parks, Paradise Islands, and numerous specials for Shark Fest.

These dynamic experiences fostered a wealth of unique production skills. Work in the field spanned environments such as the backwoods of the Smoky Mountains to crashing waves miles off the coast of Florida. Whether filming bears or bull sharks, these conditions honed the ability for calm in the face of pressure.

In addition to creative filmmaking, I led a Mentorship program for individuals with disabilities. The program paired staff from Nat Geo with Neurodiverse individuals in the DC community. Participants in the Mentorship thrived and received incredible access to the organization’s resources. Seeing their growth was my proudest moment with the Geographic and set a baseline when building relationships with partners.
